25 Random Things About Me

  1. Because I was born in New Zealand I'm classified as a Kiwi (that's what they call babies who are born there). I'm the youngest of 10.
  2. I'm extremely sensitive and words of affirmation go a long way with me. As hard as I try not to let words hurt they still can and they still do!
  3. I met my husband in Jr. High School (he was in 9th grade and in the band and I was 8th grade VP). We've been married for over 33 years.
  4. I can stay in my PJ's all day without feeling guilty, as long as I don't have to be anywhere or unless I get that look. You know which one I'm talkin bout.
  5. When I start a new hobby I feel I have to have any and all supplies that go along with it whether I'm good at it or not.
  6. I can't stand things to be uneven...it drives me insane. But I don't see it as an excessive-compulsive disorder, do you?
  7. I love having things orderly and organized. If you were to see my home office right now you probably wouldn't believe me but it's true. I tend to let things go (not sure why) but when I tackle a project it's always a noticeable improvement, huge! (I wonder what that means?)
  8. I love list's. I make lists of the music I have, the books I own, the DVD's we have. I think I missed my calling, I probably should have gone into data management of some sort.
  9. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
  10. I only have a kitchen because it came with the house, but that's not to say I can't cook (because I can), I just really don't like to.
  11. When I was a teenager I fantasized about skating with "Holiday On Ice" or the "Ice-Capades" not sure if I spelled that correctly. I took group figure skating lessons for a couple of years and wanted to continue but my parents said they couldn't afford private lessons, which would have been the next step.
  12. Growing up I took 5 years of Piano and 5 grueling years of Accordion (I hated playing it even though I was secretly thrilled when I advance to a more difficult music book than my brother, Gerry). To this day I honestly don't know why anyone would want to play the accordion??? I have a sis who used to teach it (maybe still does) along with piano. She's a fantastic teacher but I still question 'why' the accordion...
  13. When I was old enough to drive I paid for my own voice lessons even though I don't sing anymore...for anyone, but that doesn't mean I don't love music.
  14. I have a passion for music and have over 7000 songs on a separate hard drive with another hard drive for pictures, my second passion is digital scrapbooking. Check out www.scrapgirls.com
  15. I was a Travel Agent before spending 25 years with Delta Air Lines. I enjoy making travel arrangements for other people but personally I'd rather stay home and sleep in my own bed every night. Maybe that's why I could never see myself as a Flight Attendant even when I was one.
  16. Open minded people intrigue me...opinionated people get on my last nerve. But I respect the fact that we all have a right to our own opinions even the ones that annoy me, I'm sure mine annoy others at times as well.
  17. When someone says there is only one pathway to Heaven the hairs on the back of my neck begin to bristle and I secretly wish I could be a Ninja at that moment. "And do what" you say? Why reveal what is best left to the imagination.
  18. Now that I'm officially in my 50's I'd like to have a 'Do Over' but only if I can remember what I know now.
  19. I'd love to relocate somewhere other than Georgia but not anywhere I've lived before. Someplace completely different but more west or northwest would be good. I'd like to live closer to relatives in Salt Lake City but I don't see myself living too far from my grand kids.
  20. Being a grandma to 3 beautiful Angels who call me Nana is the best thing since sliced bread. There is room in my heart for more. :)
  21. I feel my daughter is the best mom I know and her kids are extremely lucky to have her as their mom. I'm so proud of her!!! Their dad is pretty awesome too. Steph and Joe are well suited for parenting!
  22. I believe in past lives and know that I've lived many times before. And if you look at me as if I just grew another head that's OK, it doesn't change my belief in the least.
  23. I know in my heart I shouldn't compare myself to anyone but that doesn't stop it from happening and it always gets me down when I let it.
  24. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't wish I could talk to my mom. I'd love to be a physic medium. It wouldn't scare me to talk to those who are not in this time space reality.
  25. I will never cease wanting to have an in ground swimming pool in my backyard no matter who tells me there is a lot of upkeep involved.
