My Take on Religion in a Nutshell

Growing up the youngest of 10 in a Mormom household definitely wasn't a cake walk. The journey from there to where I am today has been interesting to say the least. Even as a very young girl there were many things about the mormon faith that never felt quite right for me. To this day I have several family members who are still a part of it and I do love them very much, however we have just agreed to disagree on our religious views.

I recenlty read a Q&A post from Dan Milman that resonated to the very core of my being and I can not say it better then he did in his post. He describes his religious affliation this way. "I feel at home in, and have respect for, the heart of every religion. I embrace all transcendent teachings. Religion calls us to our highest ideals and points us toward the Light at the center of Creation."

This is exactly how I feel on the subject of organized religion! I could not have said it better myself. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

Wonderful perspective Jolene. I always felt different kinds of religions came about like a language or dialect to allow a whole universe of diverse people an access to a higher power.
